Ever since we moved here I have been collecting Colorado attraction brochures. I keep the brochures in our “travel to do” box. Now that the weather is warmer we can start visiting some of these attractions.
1. Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Canon City—http://www.royalgorgebridge.com/
2. Pikes Peak Cog Railway (starts in Manitou Springs)–http://cograilway.com/
3. Cave of the Winds (Colorado Springs attraction)–http://caveofthewinds.com/
4. Seven Falls (Colorado Springs attraction)–http://sevenfalls.com/home/index.cfm
5. Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Four Corners Monument (southwestern Colorado border attraction)– this is the only place in the United States where 4 states intersect at one point: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado—http://www.navajonationparks.org/htm/fourcorners.htm
There are definitely more places we want to visit in Colorado but I can’t wait to take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway up 14,115 feet.
Don’t forget the Monte Vista Crane Festival. We just posted a video on our site from our visit there last week, it was awesome.
Thank you very much for the recommendation. I found the website: http://www.cranefest.com
Never did get to go to the 4 corners while living in the Springs. Wish we would have! Man, I wish we could move back one day. Mel and I been to the other 4 you’ve listed, but I’ve been to each of them several times. Melissa and I went to 7 Falls in the Winter though so there wasn’t much to see. Have you been to the Garden of the Gods? Free and beautiful. Of course the ski resorts are also fantastic. Heading back to CO this summer and can’t wait to take my son to some of these.
We love Garden of the Gods. We wish you all could move back here too. We are excited to see you all this summer!
