In Colorado brewery tours, beer samples, pints of beers, microbrew tours, and anything else beer related are a given. However, did you know that Denver, Colorado has a whiskey distillery? We were recommended this tour and it is still on our “to do” list. The distillery is called Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey. We have heard some great things about the distillery. On their website they give Colorado a huge compliment: We don’t need to convince you to come to Colorado. If you’re here, you know why. If you’ve been, you’re coming back. If you haven’t, it’s surely an intended destination.
Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey was developed by Jess Graber and George Stranahan. According to the website (http://www.stranahans.com/history/): They developed a recipe for the smoothest, most flavorful whiskey in the world using the purity of their mountain surroundings to their advantage.

Stranahan’s conducts tours and offers a sampling of the whiskey. However, no one under 21 is permitted on the tour. If you don’t have your ID they won’t serve you the whiskey sample. As the website states: No ID means no whiskey and that’s just sad. Reservations are highly recommended because the tours fill up fast. Friday and Saturday are busy tour days.
Stranahan’s is located at 200 S. Kalamath Street, Denver, Colorado 80223.
