the Tavern in Denver, Colorado

We went to the 1:10 pm Rockies game against the Houston Astros on Memorial Day.  Good news..the Rockies won!  After the game we were enticed by a huge patio bar adjacent to Coors Field.  The bar is called the Tavern and it boasts Denver’s largest rooftop patio bar.

I am glad we stopped by the Tavern for several reasons:

The view!  The beer!  It is much cheaper at the Tavern compared to the ballpark.

We were drinking a couple of Shock Tops.

the Tavern is a Colorado based business!

the Tavern was playing great music, they had misters for the warm weather, and the patio really is HUGE!  the Tavern was a great place to go to wrap up a win for the Rockies.

  1. The Tavern makes me a little nervous. They recently bought our building in the Highlands. An old building with a lot of small local businesses that have been around for YEARS. See Jay’s Patio Bistro. All would be fine – except that they haven’t reached out to any of us as tenants yet to tell us their plans. We all want to stay where we are and continue the charm on 15th street without another restaurant. But alas – they do not communicate with us. Wish they would just so we could as business owners – adapt our business plans.

    • I understand. Hopefully, they will soon. Their mission is to “run friendly neighborhood gathering places serving great food, drinks, and hospitality to everyone in our community.” The Highlands is very charming and the small businesses is what makes Highlands so appealing. I hope they don’t change anything and communicate soon. Keep me posted.

  2. Your site is wonderful, I love Colorado as well. Thanks for visiting my site on Pikes Peak recently. I will have to check out the tavern. I have a post on my website (Libations for Liberty) it has the five oldest bars of Denver info, you should go to some of them. El Chapultepec is not far from the Tavern. I will check back often! Great stuff.
