Please be respectful when using any of the material featured in the lovelivingincolorado blog.  Unauthorized use and/or duplication of lovelivingincolorado material is prohibited if proper credit is not given.  Excerpts, links, and photos may be used, provided that full and clear credit is given to the author and blog with appropriate and specific direction or links to the original content.  Please be respectful and give credit where credit is due.

A few examples of giving credit to others:

1.  The picture of the Colorado flag is not mine but if you click on it, you will be directed to where I found the image.

2.  The picture of the Welcome to Colorful Colorado sign is one that I took.  So, if you click on the picture you won’t be redirected to another site.

3.  Pingbacks:  If there is something really great that I featured and you want others to read it, simply give me a pingback or what I would like to call a “shout out.”  For example if you really liked my recent post about Mesa Verde National Park you could simply copy and paste the link to that post:  This will let me know that someone has linked to my blog.

4.  Give your source credit when using word for word information.  I always state (in italics) something like this:  Wikipedia states that a pingback is one of three types of linkbacks, methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking to, or referring to their articles.

5.  When using other websites as sources in my blog I always give the full web address and the ability to click on the web address so that the reader can be taken directly to the source.  I used this website to gather information when writing about Mesa Verde National Park.  I found the website helpful so in my post I did this:

Thanks for viewing lovelivingincolorado.  I truly find it a compliment when my blog is used as a source of information.

    • I definitely think it is a compliment when someone wants to use my work but I just want to be properly credited. I find it helpful to have examples 🙂 Plus it is reminds me to always make sure I credit folks properly.
